News in brief – 17.04.2008

* Carlos Alberto, the Brazilian who was loaned at FC Sao Paulo, was suspended by the club until the end of the loan period. This suspension was issued for disciplinary reasons. Carlos Alberto will still be able to train with the team, but he will not be nominated anymore to the match squad.

* The Danish Daniel Jensen will be back to team training next week and he has a good chance of making the trip at Karlsruher on 25th April. Torsten Frings meanwhile had to suspend his training today because of a toenail problem, but will be able to return to training tomorrow.

* Diego was late at the morning team training. The Brazilian said the the alarm clock was to blame, he’s sorry for being late, but he’s ready to pay his fine, which will be decided these days.

* The grades for the game against Hansa(according to Kicker): Wiese 3 – Fritz 4 – Mertesacker 4 – Naldo 3,5 – Pasanen 3 – Baumann 4 – Frings 2 – Borowski 3 – Diego 4 – Sanogo 5 – Klasnic 3,5

* Frank Baumann will be out for at least 10 to 14 days with a right ankle injury after the foul suffered in the dying minutes of the game against Hansa.

* Werder where fined 5000 euro by the DFB for the incidents which happened in the fans block in Bielefeld. There, the Werder followers ignited a smoke bomb and threw fireworks in the Arminia’s penalty area.

* After just one year at Bayern, Jan Schlaudraff has made a transfer demand for the end of the season and his request was accepted by manager Uli Hoeneß. Klaus Allfos has declared that Werder is not interested anymore in buying the german player. He had a chance to join the green-white army last year, he missed it, and he wouldn’t get a second one.
