There was good news for Werder Bremen as they headed into a weekend without Bundesliga action. Midfielder Daniel Jensen, who had been forced out due to a muscle sinew tear which he picked up soon after the clash with MSV Duisburg, was able to return to full team training again on Friday, as was German international Torsten Frings. It was a further boost for the trainer who saw Hugo Almeida return to training on Thursday, having recovered from his hip problem. Club captain Frank Baumann, Sebastian Boenisch and Pierre Wome are all still being put through their paces in individual training programmes.

Werder Bremen are considering a double summer swoop for strikers Milan Baros and John Carew.
The Bundesliga outfit are keen to add firepower to their squad after attacking injuries in the middle of the season exposed a lack of strength in depth.
Bremen were eliminated from the last 16 of the Uefa Cup by Rangers as their threadbare squad was highlighted as they struggled to threaten at Ibrox in the first leg.
And manager Klaus Allofs has confirmed he is eyeing a move for Lyon forward Baros, who is currently on loan at Portsmouth, and Aston Villa striker John Carew.
“We are considering the possible signings of players like John Carew or Milan Baros,” Allofs told SportBild.
